Jimmy started his music career early in the 80's with the Northern Rhode Island band, Legacy, along with brothers Mike and Dave Pereira, Jim Legare, Mickey Chapdelaine, and eventually Brian Cooney.  They played many local clubs and colleges.  Even back then, Jim's vocal range set the band apart with his ability to do songs that other bands couldn't do.  While that was 35 years ago, the name still brings back memories to many of their old fans.

Jim went on to perform in a number of successful Rhode Island bands over the years, featuring some of the best area musicians.  Jim was always in demand due to his vocal ability and his guitar playing magic.   These bands included former bands:
